The Launch of the Halton Music Project
A New Musical Chapter for Halton
Founded in September 2025 by Donald Frank Clements—pictured here with Patrick O’Reilly and Stephen Hurley—the Halton Music Project (HMP) was established in Milton, Ontario as a non-profit dedicated to providing live music entertainment while emphasizing its guiding values: “Music, Community, Unity and Love – Creating Harmony in Halton.”
Inspired by Teachers, Friends, and Family

The seeds of the Halton Music Project were planted decades ago in rural Milton, where Clements grew up surrounded by music. Encouraged by his parents, Margaret and Brad, he pursued clarinet, piano, brass, and singing. In an era before television, Saturday nights were spent gathered around the piano, his parents playing while the family sang together.

“Dad would sing his tearful version of Oh My Darlin’ Clementine,” Clements recalls fondly. “Those moments shaped my understanding of music as something deeply connected to family and community.”

Margaret’s love of music was equally influential. With only a small record player, she would fill the home with classical recordings, and the family made annual trips to see The Nutcracker ballet. For young Donald, hours were spent listening to Jimmy Durante on his personal record player—a soundtrack to his growing passion for song.
